Instead of doing plant transects today I helped collect behavioral data on the colobus monkeys and waited for the ones napping to wake up so that we could get their poop (but only if we could ID them). Two people kept their binocs trained on the monkeys and when they started peeing I went under them and waited for their poop to fall.
I got the poop sample from Peach.
Then when we were leaving, we passed this natural dome on the ground that was formed out of all these vines and tree branches so I climbed into it. There were about a dozen callithrix just chilling in the dome so I just sat with the monkeys for about 20 minutes. They were about three feet away from me, adults, juveniles, and babies!
I thought I made a comment -- but it didn't get posted? Anyhoo, it's all about the poop ain't it?
